Japanese Castles

We all know that Japan have a lots castles. Castles are built in Japan since ancient times but the exact purpose for castles is for defense. At the time of15th century, Japan were a group of small states which fought together all the time. So most of the states built castles in mountains for the defense purpose. At the time of 16th century Japan were reunified and became a large country and emperors of Japan built large castles on planes for military head quarters and administration purposes. Many castles were destroyed or broken after the end of feudal age and most of are broken during second world war time. Some of the castles remains with there old constructions and some of them reconstructed. Japan self guided tours are a good option to visit these  castles. 

Multiple rings of defense are the main part of castles and this helps to slow down or destroy the enemy. Each castle will have 3 parts and they are Honmaru, Ninomaru and Sannomaru respectively. ninomaru part were used by the lords as their comfortable residence. castle will be surrounded by a town where people will live. usually people people with higher rank will live close to the castle.  Visiting these castles will worth because of its construction and historical value.
